Cottle Coffee at Damansara Uptown: Snapshot

South Melbourne’s Cottle Coffee has opened its first Asian offshoot, a collaboration between Australian Richard Cottle, a fourth-generation coffee purveyor, & Malaysian Looi Miin Wei, who left KL several years ago & started his own cafe Down Under. Cottle at Uptown is a genuinely friendly, feel-good venue – the Cottle Cat might greet you with a purr outside, while senior barista Su Juin stands ready indoors with a warm smile, eager to ensure the (dark roast) cappuccino, (mango butter) cake & (hot) curry puffs hit the spot. Cottle On Coventry’s own-roasted beans are flown into KL fortnightly; Richard will shuttle back & forth to provide Cottle Malaysia with his personal touch, backed by decades of experience & dollops of enthusiasm.
