Known as the Thai Festival of Lights, Loy Krathong is one of Thailand’s most enchanting and the second best-known festival after its New Year’s Songkran festival. Loy Krathong usually takes place on the evening of the full moon of the 12th month in the traditional Thai Lunar calendar, where festival-goers would place candles on banana leaf boats and let it sail down the rivers as an act of thankfulness for a good harvest and forgiveness of sins.

Lemon Garden has collaborated with Shangri-La Hotel, Chiang Mai to bring over Mr. Chainarin Langkeng who will be in charge of curating a notable buffet spread. Chef Chainarin has over 19 years of experience in culinary, where his cuisine is best described as “modern presentations with traditional Thai flavours”.

Opening night for the festival took place on the 7th of November 2019, where guests were treated with a Thai traditional dance, live fruit carving by chef Mr. Narut Saengsakol and the ritual of Loy Krathong (releasing flower boats) at the tranquil Koi Pond within the premise of Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
