Catching the Breeze at Luna Bar KL

Luna Bar Kuala Lumpur (KL), situated inside the Pacific Regency Hotel, is a one-of-a kind bar. Launched in December 2004, it is positioned on the 34th floor of the hotel, the rooftop to be precise, and boasts a 360 degree view of the city.The open-air concept of the bar provides a splendid view of the towering sky-scrappers in KL.

Dine al-fresco style by the pool (yes, there is a pool!) at Luna Poolside bar on the lower deck, or step up to Luna Mezzanine on the top floor for an even better view of the city’s skyline. Non-smokers can also choose to dine at the new smoke-free indoor lounge, Cristallo Di Luna, for a more intimate setting.

The contemporary design of Luna Bar is the deciding factor for most expats when picking a place to wine and dine. One can choose to recline by the pool on deck chairs, or lounge upstairs on comfortable sofas. If the latter is your choice, make sure you pick a window seat – the view of the Twin Towers at night is spectacular!

Luna Bar KL Menu: Food and Beverages

The menu at Luna Bar KL consists of a delightful selection of appetisers, salads and soups as well as a-la-carte dishes, such as the Black Angus Tenderloin and Baked Cod Fish. Luna’s signature Chicken Wings – priced at RM26 – is a favourite snack, while the Grilled New Zealand Lamb Skewers (RM35++) and Barbeque Beef Ribs (RM37++) are the most popular, and commonly ordered mains on the menu. Luna Bar does not serve lunch, as the bar only opens at 5pm.

Luna Bar KL has a decent selection of cocktails, wines, beers and premium liquors. Ask the resident mixologists for Luna’s special drink, and you will end up with a delightful glass of…LUNA! This signature cocktail is turquoise in colour, and is a mixture of dark rum, Cointreau and blue Curacao shaken with lychee liqueur and garnished with a Longan fruit and sago.

Luna Bar KL Menu Price

The prices stated on the menu are reasonable enough for a place that offers an incredible view and dining experience. Prices for beverages start from RM22++ a glass, and can go up to RM3, 000++ (only if you order the Louis 16th Remy Martin cognac).

Food prices start at RM22++ and can go up to RM65++. Keep in mind that there is a cover charge of RM50 – inclusive of one free drink – after 9.30pm

Luna Bar KL Music

Luna Bar KL is a dining and party haven for many expats and locals. There is always a special party or theme night to heat things up. Wednesdays especially are a favourite for the ladies as it is Red Hot Diva night, where – starting from 9pm – ladies will get to indulge in complimentary canapés and five different cocktails, which are Sex on the Pool, Purple Love, Scandalous, 69 and LS2.

Thursday nights are dedicated for retro 80s music while Sunday is Hoteliers Night, where those in the hotel industry will receive a 20%discount for food and beverages upon presenting their hotel ID card. Patrons in the airline industry will also get a 20% discount daily, on food and beverage upon presenting their air crew ID card.

Getting to Luna Bar KL

Luna Bar KL is located within the Pacific Regency Hotel, which is directly opposite the KL Tower. The easiest mode of transportation would be by cab, but if you’re driving, then you can park your car at the hotels parking lot.

If you don’t mind walking, then you can take the train (Monorail) to the Bukit Nanas station, and walk – for about eight minutes – to the hotel.

With its stunning view and delectable beverages and gourmet delights, it’s no surprise that Luna Bar KL is a favourite hang-out spot and party venue for expats and locals living in KL.
