Sous-vide steaks, burgers & wraps on a Sri Hartamas sidewalk, served by a banker-turned-chef who loves his meat.
Bruno’s proves that upscale steakhouses hold no monopoly on succulent satisfaction – if you’re fine to forgo air-conditioning for an alfresco ambiance & swap a restaurant’s comfortable seats for this stall’s stools, then you’re good to go here, especially if you’re hunting for value for cash. This inch-thick Aussie rib-eye weighed over 300 grams & cost only slightly north of RM30.
Hefty & hearty, done exactly how we like it – a tableau of tenderness; no frills, nice flavour. Easy to enjoy & endorse.
For burgers, begin with the basics: Bruno’s ‘Gangster’ (RM10.90) flaunts a 125-gram sous vide Aussie beef patty with cheese & egg on a sweetish bun. Without the egg, it’s merely a Bad Boy (RM9.90); if you double the beef, cheese & eggs, it turns into a full-blown Mafia (RM21.90). Note that Bruno’s patties lean toward a coarser, less processed texture.
Not into beef? Then dine on duck, with crispy-skin, sous-vide smoked breast sliced on tortillas (RM9.90). If you’re starving, pay RM24.90 for a whole duck breast with unlimited tortillas. Expect Bruno’s to cultivate a cult following among carnivores.
And while everything here screams for some Merlot, there’s none to be sipped, of course. Still, these independently produced Tanha Lychee, Lemon & Peppermint bottled iced teas perform pleasurably well in partnering with Bruno’s chew-worthy protein.
