Another branch so soon: Black Market opened its first outlet only this year at Kampung Pandan, but it’s expanding already, launching its latest place at St Mary Residences.

Entries on Black Market @ Kampung Pandan: March 13th and March 15th.

Expanding Menu

Black Market’s menu has broadened in the months since March, now comprising new temptations that nonetheless remain unabashedly porky and irredeemably decadent. Even this salad isn’t spared from sinfulness, thanks to the Jamon Iberico and sunny-side-up egg that come with rocket leaves, cherry tomatoes, olive oil and shiitake balsamic dressing.Black Market_2

Cool way to squeeze a lemon slice over this recipe, cutely nicknamed “Fly Pig To The Moon” (RM26+) on the menu (combining the imagery of rocket, pork and yolk).

Spanish Cured Ham

More Spanish cured ham, this time accompanying a succulent slab of pork shoulder grilled with red wine sauce and served with poached zucchini (RM38+).Black Market_4

Chinese Influences

Minced pork and fish maw in a Chinese-style soup (RM15+). Not bad, not brilliant.Black Market_5

Ribs

These pork ribs (RM42) might look dry but they’re not, oven-baked to tasty tenderness.Black Market_6

Not quite a Burger

Not exactly a pork burger, but every bit as satisfactory: ‘The Great Hog Bun’ (RM28+), essentially a pork chop panini with guacamole and nachos on the side.Black Market_7

Desserts

Dessert hops over in the form of a bunny bearing a boozy tiramisu (RM16+), infused with illy coffee liquor (barely perceptibly though).Black Market_8

Wine

This branch of Black Market looks nice, in its own fashion. Fairly classy. Black Market_9 Black Market_10 Black Market_11Black Market_12
